Farmyard Yarns

The Chronicles

I have heard people say that animals are dumb. Well I looked up the meaning in a dictionary and it states that the word dumb means either ‘Silent’ or ‘Stupid’. Animals do not fit into any of these categories. We are certainly not silent and being stupid is only a perception being made by the person calling the name.

Okay, so I haven’t got thumbs, I eat grass, don’t wear knickers, and poo on the floor. Things don’t look good so far. But I’m not greedy, not jealous, do not destroy the ozone layer, pollute the ocean, chop down the rainforest or kill and eat other animals.

You may have realised by now that I am a sheep.
How I became self-aware and met up with my gang of friends, is explained in 3 books…

But beware, these writings are not to be taken lightly. There may be singing, tales of adventure, pirate’s treasures and dinosaurs, but these chronological tales also tell of a twenty-year-old murder mystery, of a little girl’s battle with cancer, her father’s bouts of depression, an underground terror-cell and death on a global scale.

The stories cover the period between August 9th 2019 and today, and as you are well aware, a lot has happened in the world. Let me give you a brief synopsis of the trilogy.

The books revolve around Barkers Farm at 77 Barlow Mow Lane, on the outskirts of Dogsdip, situated amongst the rolling hills of middle England. From the outside, this looks like any other farm, but there are hidden secrets about this place that no one knows about… until now.

The books are aimed at kids over 8 but if you are over 80 then forget it, you are going to be far too cynical!

After my friend Molly underwent a brain cancer operation, she can now understand what animals are saying. We have a very special relationship.

I think she is probably funnier than me and is certainly the best human that ever lived. But that is only my perception of course!

Kind Regards
